Vito Andrisani is the Program Manager for the Office of Recovery and Director of the Passaic County Intoxicated Driver Resource Center. Vito is a master’s level clinician, Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor, Certified Clinical Supervisor and Peer Recovery Specialist. Vito started practicing and was trained in counseling in Italy, in 1997 where he participated in public health campaigns applying principles of Harm Reduction regarding safe sex, spread of HIV and Hepatitis and finally the benefits of needle exchange. In the U.S.A. since 1999, he has worked with various clients presenting with different diagnoses and ranging in age from 5 to 81. He worked with children and adults in group homes and was a teacher’s assistant in special education and an adjunct professor in various local universities. Vito has worked with the addicted, the criminal and behaviorally challenged population, as well as schizophrenic adults. He has implemented various IOP programs, managed a Methadone Clinic, implemented Harm Reduction in the halfway house setting, and managed other treatment programs before taking on his current role with Passaic County.
